Howbone Two In One Twist Stick Goat's Milk & Pumpkin - 80g

Howbone Two In One Twist Stick Goat's Milk & Pumpkin - 80g is a pouch of five twisted sticks, each one two strands wound together: goat's milk and pumpkin. Pumpkin is a familiar ingredient for dogs with an unsettled gut and gives the stick its orange strand. Howbone lists added calcium and taurine in the recipe.

Key Features

• Five sticks: the count is printed on the pack, so an 80g pouch is easy to ration.
• Two strands in one: goat's milk twisted with pumpkin, which gives the stick its texture and keeps a dog chewing.
• Goat's milk base: a milder dairy than cow's milk, which is why Howbone builds its softer range around it.
• Added calcium: listed by Howbone as support for teeth and bones; it is a treat, so take it as part of the recipe rather than a supplement.
• No added sugar: the brand states the sticks are free of added sugar and artificial preservatives.

Good To Know

• Not every dog handles milk well. Start with a small amount and stop if you see loose stools or wind.
• Treats are extra calories. Keep them to roughly a tenth of what your dog eats in a day and take the difference off the main meal.
• Stay in the room while your dog works on a chew. Take the last piece away once it is small enough to swallow whole, and keep fresh water down.
• Introduce any new treat over a few days. A sudden change can give a dog loose stools even when nothing is wrong with the food.
• Press the pack closed again after each use and keep it somewhere cool and dry. Left open, these dry out and lose the smell that makes a dog want them.
