Description
The Sera Marin Hydrometer is a one-piece floating hydrometer for marine aquariums. It measures the density of the water, which tells you its salt content.
Key Features
- Simple To Read: it floats upright in a sample of tank water, and you read the density off the scale at the water line.
- No Batteries: a simple float instrument with no electronics.
- For Marine Tanks: for checking salinity in reef and fish-only marine aquariums, and when mixing new salt water.
Good To Know
- Fill a tall glass or jar with tank water and let the hydrometer float freely, without touching the sides.
- Wait for it to settle and read at eye level.
- Rinse it with fresh water after each use so salt does not crust on the scale.
- Top up evaporation with fresh water, not salt water. In UAE heat, water evaporates fast and salinity creeps up, so check it often.
