Description
Zolux Wicker Turtledove Nest is a wide open bowl nest for doves and turtledoves, woven from natural wicker with a wire hook for the bars.
Key Features
- Wider and shallower than the canary nest, for the bigger bird
- Open cup shape, which is how doves nest
- Woven from natural wicker with a green and brown trim
- Wire hook fitted for fixing it to the cage bars
Good To Know
- Nesting material is not included. Most small birds want something to line the box with, such as coconut fibre, sisal or soft hay.
- Wicker cannot really be scrubbed. Replace a soiled nest between clutches rather than washing and reusing it.
- Leaving a nest in the cage all year round encourages a hen to lay clutch after clutch, which drains her calcium. Take it out once the chicks have fledged.
- A hen needs a calcium source in the cage before the first egg, not after it - a cuttlebone or a mineral block.
