Description
The Exotic Nutrition Deluxe Squirrel Diet is a squirrel mix built on high-protein pellets with premium nuts through it.
Key Features
- Walnuts, pistachios and pecans
- High-protein pellets provide the balanced part of the mix
- Suits ground squirrels, grey squirrels, flying squirrels and chipmunks
- 2 lb (907 g) bag
Feeding
- Around 2 oz (57 g) a day, or free-choice, adjusted to keep your squirrel at a healthy weight
- Remove uneaten food after 24 hours
Good To Know
- Squirrels will eat the nuts and leave the pellets if allowed — ration the mix so the fortified part gets eaten
- A nut-heavy diet leads to obesity and poor bone condition; the pellets are the part that keeps the diet balanced
- Once opened, keep the bag sealed in a cool, dry place; refrigerating it keeps the vitamins in condition for longer
- Always leave fresh, clean drinking water available
- Small exotics hide illness well. Weight loss, a change in droppings or refusing food warrants an exotics vet, not a change of treat
