Hobby Clamp Lamp Protector Guard - 21cm is a protective grid that clips onto a 21cm clamp lamp, article 37067. It exists for one reason: reptiles climb onto warm things, and a basking bulb reaches a temperature that causes serious burns. A guard is the cheapest piece of husbandry equipment you will buy and the one most often skipped.

Why This Is Not Optional

• Thermal burns in reptiles are common and badly underestimated. A reptile does not reliably move away from something that is damaging it the way a mammal does, and burns to the back and flanks are a routine reptile-vet presentation.
• It also protects the bulb. A lizard that climbs on a hot bulb can crack it, and a shattered lamp in an enclosure is worse again.
