Description
The Dophin P-1008 is a top filter, sitting along the rim of the tank and driven by its own internal power head. Media sits in a tray above the water where you can reach it without draining anything, which makes it one of the easier filter types to live with on a large freshwater tank.
Key Features
- 1550 L/h output at 29 W on 230 V mains.
- Driven by an internal submersible power head, so there is no separate pump to plumb.
- Sized for aquariums 92 to 96 cm long, and rated to 300 litres.
- Media tray sits above the water line for easy access.
- Aerates as the water returns, which helps gas exchange.

Setup & Maintenance
Measure the tank before ordering. A top filter has to span the rim, so a tank outside the 92 to 96 cm range will not take it. Check there is clearance above the tank for the tray as well. Rinse media in tank water rather than under the tap.
Safety
- Disconnect from the mains before servicing the filter or the power head.
- The power head must stay submerged while running.
- For indoor aquarium use only.
Good To Know
- Code 54 0023. 230 V / 50 Hz, 29 W, 1550 L/h, tanks to 300 litres.
- A top filter needs clearance above the tank for the lid and the media tray, so check the cabinet or hood height as well.
