M-PETS Natural Deshedding Conditioner for Dogs is the magenta-banded bottle in the M-PETS coat range, and the only conditioner in it - it goes on after a shampoo rather than instead of one.

- The front reads NATURAL DESHEDDING Conditioner, with a setter on the label
- A conditioner, not a shampoo. It is the one bottle in this group used after washing rather than for washing
- Its own label is in two minds: Démêlant anti-chute de poils in French and anticaduta in Italian both mean anti-shedding, while entwirrender in German and ontwarrende in Dutch both mean detangling
- The name is printed along the bottom in five languages, which is how you tell the range apart on a shelf
- M-PETS give the formula as paraben free. This older 250 ml label does not print it anywhere; the newer labels in the range carry a Paraben Free roundel on the front
Good To Know
- Brush once the coat is dry, not while it is wet. Wet hair stretches and breaks, and a mat pulled at wet gets tighter.
- Keep it out of the eyes and ears. Wash the head last, with your hand rather than a jug, and tip the muzzle down.
- Nothing stops a dog shedding. What a conditioner does is loosen the dead hair so a brush takes it out over a sink instead of a sofa, so use it with a deshedding tool rather than on its own.
- Leave it on for two or three minutes before rinsing. Conditioner needs contact time; shampoo mostly does not.
