Description
JBL PhosEx Ultra is an iron-based filter material that removes phosphate from freshwater and marine aquariums for good. Excess phosphate, from food and fish waste, is one of the main things that feeds algae.
Key Features
- High Capacity: JBL rate the 340 g pack to bind about 18,000 mg of phosphate, enough for 200 l.
- Binds It For Good: an insoluble iron compound that releases nothing back into the water.
- Freshwater And Marine: for both kinds of aquarium.
- Works Through Water Changes: keeps working until its capacity is used up.
Size
- 340 g - for 200 l
Good To Know
- Fill it into a filter bag and place it where water flows through it.
- JBL suggest using it in freshwater from about 0.3 mg/l phosphate, and aiming for below 0.1 mg/l.
- For a large water change of 50 to 60%, take it out and rinse it well first.
- Test with a sensitive phosphate test. When the level climbs again, replace the material.
- It can be used together with JBL NitratEx.
