How To Use It

• Wet the coat thoroughly with warm water first. Shampoo will not reach the skin through a dry double coat.
• Work it in until a rich lather builds, from the neck down so suds run away from the face.
• Rinse until the water runs clear. Shampoo left in a coat is the usual cause of itching after a bath.
• Towel off, then dry with a dryer and brush the coat as it dries.
• Cover the ears while you rinse.

Follow With The Conditioner

On a long coat this shampoo and the Nutriment Conditioner are meant to work together, and the difference shows at the brushing stage. Shampoo alone leaves the hair cuticle open and the coat will tangle again within days.

Washing Will Not Beat Brushing

A long coat mats at the roots where you cannot see it, and no shampoo prevents that. It needs a comb right down to the skin two or three times a week. Brushing only the top layer leaves a felted sheet underneath that looks fine until a groomer finds it -- and a solid mat has to be clipped out, never cut, because skin lifts into a mat and cuts far more easily than you would expect.

Good To Know

• A 4kg container is a salon quantity. If you are washing one dog at home the 500ml bottle of the same formula will almost certainly outlast your interest in it.
• Soap-free and paraben-free. Fragrance and colourants are in the formula, so this is not the one for a dog that reacts easily -- that is the Soothing Fountain.
• A shampoo cleans; it does not treat disease. Broken, scabby or weeping skin, bald patches, a smell that returns within days of a bath, or scratching to the point of bleeding all need a vet rather than a different bottle.
• Avoid the eyes. If any gets in, flush thoroughly with clean water.
• Cover the pet's ears when you rinse.
• For external use only. Not edible.
