Description
The Aqua Medic Turboflotor 5000 Shorty Compact is a powerful, low-height protein skimmer for the cabinet under a large saltwater aquarium, taken from the Turboflotor 5000 range.
Key Features
- Low Build: a shorter version of the Turboflotor 5000, made to fit under an aquarium.
- Small Footprint: needs only 34 x 38 cm of floor space.
- Proven Pump: an Ocean Runner OR 3500 pump with needle wheel, the same as the larger Turboflotor 5000 models.
- For Large Tanks: Aqua Medic place the Shorty models between the Turboflotor 1000 Multi and the Turboflotor 5000 baby.
Good To Know
- It needs a second pump of at least 2,000 L/h to feed it water.
- It can also be fed straight from the aquarium overflow. With a strong return pump, fit a bypass to set the flow through the skimmer.
- A new skimmer can take a week or two to settle in.
- Empty and rinse the foam cup regularly.
