Description
Sera Biopur is a biomechanical filter medium made of clay tubes, for aquarium and pond filters. It gives filter bacteria a home and also catches dirt.
Key Features
- Home For Filter Bacteria: the coarse surfaces suit the nitrifying bacteria that break down ammonia and nitrite.
- Wide Tubes: a large inside diameter lets water flow freely, so the filter runs longer before it needs cleaning.
- Freshwater, Marine And Pond: for filters on all three.
- 750 g Pack: enough to fill a filter basket or chamber in most external filters.

Good To Know
- Rinse it thoroughly before first use to wash off dust.
- Place it early in the filter, where the water first flows through.
- When cleaning, rinse it in old aquarium water, not tap water, so the bacteria survive.
- Never replace all the filter media at once.
