Description
The Aqua Medic Nitratreductor NR 1000 is an anaerobic biological reactor that removes nitrate from marine and freshwater aquariums up to 1,000 litres.
Key Features
- 10 L Reactor: with an internal circulation pump.
- Slow Flow: runs at 1 to 4 litres an hour, so oxygen is used up and nitrate-eating bacteria take over.
- Dosing Pump Supplied: an SP 3000 dosing pump is supplied to give a steady, controlled flow.
- Redox Port: a built-in PG13.5 port takes a redox electrode for monitoring with an mV controller.
- Stand-Alone Or In A Filter: a closed unit that can stand under the aquarium or be built into a filter system.
Good To Know
- Feed the bacteria with Denimar powder or Deniballs, sold separately.
- It takes several weeks for the bacteria to establish before nitrate falls.
- Monitor the redox value or the outflow smell. Too slow a flow can produce hydrogen sulphide.
- Dimensions without electrode: 17 x 17 x 54 cm.
