The Exo Terra Natural Light is a full spectrum daylight bulb that gives a terrarium the brightness and colour of real daylight.

What This Bulb Is and Is Not

It is a visual light and UVA bulb. It is not a UVB source and it is not a heat source, so it does not replace either. What it does is fill the gap most setups leave: a terrarium lit only by a UVB tube and a basking lamp is usually dim and orange, and the animals in it are living in permanent late afternoon.

The 98 CRI figure is the one worth noting. Colour Rendering Index measures how faithfully a light source shows colour against daylight, and 98 is close to perfect. Your animals and plants look as they actually are, not as a poor bulb renders them — which matters practically as well as visually, because you spot a dull colour or an early shed problem far sooner under honest light.

Building a Complete Setup

Combine with a UVB bulb chosen for your species:

• UVB 100 Tropical — rainforest and shaded habitat species
• UVB 150 Desert — arid species and screened terrariums
• UVB 200 High Output — very high UV needs or tall terrariums

You will also need a separate basking lamp for heat. Neither this bulb nor a UVB fluorescent produces meaningful warmth.

Safety

• Use in a fixture with a ceramic socket.
• Let the bulb cool completely before handling.
• Give nocturnal species shaded retreats — bright light suits them only if they can get away from it.
