Exo Terra Glow Light Lamp Fixture - For Terrarium - S

The Exo Terra Glow Light is a reflector dome with an unusual trick: the reflective coating is luminous, storing light during the day and releasing it as a soft glow once the lamp is switched off.

Why That Is Genuinely Useful

Most reptile keepers want to watch their animals in the evening, which is exactly when many species become active. The usual solution is a coloured night bulb — but there is good reason to think reptiles see more of that light than the marketing suggests, and a lit enclosure at night disrupts the day-night cycle animals rely on.

A luminous coating sidesteps the problem. It produces a moon-like glow, enough to see by, without running a lamp at all. Nocturnal species behave normally and can retreat into burrows without stress, and you can check on them without switching anything on.

The coating also earns its keep during the day, reflecting light that would otherwise be wasted back into the terrarium.

Key Features

• Luminous reflective coating that glows after the light is switched off
• Moon-like glow for nocturnal viewing without disturbing natural behaviour
• Heat-resistant porcelain socket
• Takes compact fluorescent and incandescent bulbs
• Spring-loaded swivel clamp for precise positioning
• Reflects otherwise wasted light back into the enclosure

Specifications

Fitting

• Clamps to the rim of a terrarium or aquarium, or sits on top of a metal screen cover.
• The swivel clamp lets you aim the beam precisely at a basking site.
• Check the bulb wattage against the fixture rating before use.

Safety

• The dome gets hot in use. Let it cool before handling or repositioning.
• Make sure the clamp is fully tightened — a fixture that falls into an enclosure is a serious hazard.
• Keep clear of water and misting systems.
