The Exo Terra Repti Flo 200 is a compact submersible circulation pump for aqua-terrariums, paludariums, streams and waterfalls — and the replacement pump for the Exo Terra Waterfall range.

What Circulation Actually Does

Moving water is not just for looks. Still water in a warm terrarium stratifies and stagnates: oxygen falls, waste settles, and bacteria multiply in the layer that never moves.

Circulation prevents that. It oxygenates the water, which supports the beneficial bacteria doing biological filtration, and keeps waste in suspension where a filter can remove it rather than letting it rot on the bottom.

For the animals there is a second benefit: many lizards, and chameleons especially, will not drink from still water — they do not recognise it as drinkable and can dehydrate beside a full bowl. Moving water registers, and they drink readily from it.

• Never run the pump dry. These pumps are cooled by the water they sit in, and running one in air will burn out the motor quickly. Check the water level regularly, particularly in a warm enclosure where evaporation is fast.
• Indoor and submersible use only.
• Unplug before reaching into the water for any reason.
• Rinse the intake periodically — shed skin and substrate clog it and reduce flow.
